This is a song I wrote for my Mom’s 80th Birthday Party.
Mom, as we sit here today we are so happy,
To recall all the joys that we’ve shared.
The sweet memories will be kept in our hearts forever,
We can never thank you enough for the way you’ve cared.As a family we have shared something special,
There’s a closeness even when we are apart.
We don’t express our love the way that we ought to,
But you’ll always have a special place in our hearts.As the years have come and gone you have grown dearer,
And we need to take the time to tell you so.
You have been the dearest friend we’ve ever needed,
Mom, we thank you for the tender love that you've shown.As each one of us became a parent,
And we had a beautiful family of our own.
Now we know about the sacrifice and frustrations,
But we also know how love and joy are shown.We thank you for the loving example you gave us,
Every success that we’ve had, has come from you.
You have been the best teacher that one could ask for,
Your advice that you gave us helped us through.We thank you for all that you have given,
And the strength to face the problems that we do.
We ask God to bless you with health and happiness,
Time can never take away our love for you.
